LISTEN to the interview

Vincent Campbell plays tunes interspersed with stories about them and recollections of his youth and time in Britain. He was born in An tSeanga Mheáin, in the Gaeltacht near Glenties, Co. Donegal. The music of the region was influenced by migration to Scotland and elsewhere. He migrated to Scotland in 1956 where he worked on hydroelectric schemes and traveled around Britain doing other work. He returned to Ireland in 1962, first to Meath and later to Donegal.
